Play! by Sephora May Box

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

After months of being on the wait list, I FINALLY was able to sign up for the Play! By Sephora beauty box.  If you are not familiar, a couple months back the beauty store Sephora started with own beauty box subscription service (like Ipsy or Birch Box).  Everyone wanted to sign up immediately but they started out small and only allowed people in certain areas of America to sign up.  Then recently they allowed more people, and that's when I was able to go on the site and sign up!  So since this is my first box, I thought I would show it to you all in case you were interested when they are available.  Here is what I got this month:

The packaging is really cute.  The box is black and white which goes with Sephora's color scheme.  Then all the products were in this adorable little pouch that I will definitely keep.  This will be good for travel for jewelry or hair ties or something small like that.  Then here are the products:

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in the shade Kimchi (mini size)- I love Bite Beauty lipsticks, I actually own one full size lipstick and one dual sided lipstick from the brand already, and I loved them both.  I would normally be super excited to get this in a subscription box, but i just don't like the shade of this one.  It's basically the brightest pink I have ever seen.  If you read my blog often, you know I'm a nude shade lover, and this one is just too out of my comfort zone to even try.  So I think I will try to pass this one to my mother or someone else who would love to rock a bold lip.

Brigeo Don't Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask- I was really happy to see this hair mask in my bag this month.  My main reason for signing up for Play boxes was so that I would be able to try high end products without having to play the full high end product prices before I knew if they actually worked.  This hair mask retails for $26, so it will be so nice to actually get to sample it before I consider spending that much on it.

Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine- When I first opened the bag, I was not thrilled to see a perfume sample in there, you can get those at any store you go into.  But I think I heard in on of the past Play! unboxings that I watched that there will be a perfume sample in each box, but it doesn't count as an item so that's good.  I also was a bit more impressed with the sample when I looked online and found out that the full size of the perfume cost $120!  So basically this sample is the only way I'm ever going to get to use this perfume! Haha

Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon in Latergram (mauve)- Another item I was really happy to see in there.  I know Tarte just came out with a lot of new lip products and this is one of them.  I do really like the shade (I swatched it as soon as I opened the box) and I don't have a ton of lip liners, so I'm really glad to have another one and try something from their new product line.

Origins Maskimizer Skin Optimizing Primer and Origins Mask Samples- Like with the other products, I like that I get to try a high end brand product without having to pay the full high price for it.  But at the same time, now there is a mask primer?  We are priming for everything now!  It will be nice to try, but I really don't need ANOTHER product to add to my skin care routine!  It will have to be really amazing for me to consider it!

Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial Moisturizer- This is the bummer of my bag!  I got the tiny box that this moisturizers comes in, but the box was empty!  There was no moisturizer inside of it (see picture below)!  I'm super bummed that I didn't get the product.  Their website says that if an item is missing you have to call their normal customer service phone number.  I will try to do this, but with my busy schedule (I barely find the time during my work day to make doctor appointments by phone) I don't know if I will get to doing it.  I hope as the subscription service gets more popular they will introduce some online customer service options.

So that was my first Play! by Sephora box!  If it was not for the missing product, I would have said this was a really successful box and I do fee like I got my money's worth!  It was a nice range of make up, hair and skin care products.  If I do contact customer service about the missing item, I will let you know how that goes.  If you are interested in this box, I would say sign up for the wait list, but also keep a look out on Twitter and Instagram for people posting that they were able to sign up.  And don't be afraid to keep trying to sign up.  I tried like 5 times before I heard from a friend on Instagram that they were accepting new subscribers and I tried again and finally got it.  I'm sure it will be available for everyone soon!

May Empties- Hair Product Only

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

Just like the past few months this month my empties will focus on one specific type of products, this month it's hair care products (click here to see my lastest Body Care Only Empties and click here to see my latest Make Up Only Empties).  Just to give you guys an idea of my hair type, right now it's about 2 inches or so past my shoulders in length.  It's wavy (and a bit curly) if I let it dry on my own but if I have time I like to blow it straight and use a flat iron to make it really straight.  I also sometimes like to get more volume at the roots when I flat iron so I use volumizing and thickening products often to help with that.  And right now my hair is not dyed or colored in any way (I have many times in the past, just not right now).  So if your hair has any similar qualities, check out what I thought of these products:

Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Shine Mask- This is one of my favorite drug store hair masks!  Once a week I will use this in place of my normal conditioner.  I feel like it makes my hair soft and smooth when I wash it out and I do feel like it looks shinier after I use it.  And I also really like that I only have to keep it in my hair for 3-5 minutes.  I hate when you have to keep a hair mask in your hair for a long time!  You either have to waste water standing in the shower waiting or you have to turn off the water and then turn it back on again… super annoying!  I would highly recommend this one and I will be repurchasing!

Pantene Pro-V Conditioner- If you have read any of my empties before you, know this is hands down my favorite conditioner.  It has been since high school and I don’t see anything replacing it anytime soon.  I have found one or two others that I like, but none that I like more for this price.  I know some people say it’s not good for your hair but I have used it for over 10 years and every time I go to the salon the stylist says my hair looks really healthy.  My only little extra I wanted to add is that I don’t really feel there is too much of a difference between formulas in their line (fragile, volumizing, beautiful length, etc), they all feel the same to me.

Healthy Sexy Hair Tri-Wheat Leave in Conditioner- I really enjoyed using this spray in conditioner!  The main thing I use it for is detangling my hair after showing.  I get a lot of knots from doing messy buns so this is great at detangling gently.  Even though I just said I liked this, I’m not sure if I will be repurchasing this.  The reason is because of the price.  As much as I like this, I have used some children’s spray in conditioners that work just well and cost less so this would have be on a really good sale for me to purchase this one again. (This was on sale last week with the Ulta The Gorgeous Hair event for $7.99, so I did pick up a new one then!)

Tresemme Extra Frim Control Hair Spray- I heard a lot of great things about this hair spray so I was happy to get this sample size in a beauty box a while back (can’t remember which one).  And what I heard was right, I loved this one!  It gives at really firm hold but it’s not like super crunchy or frozen in place.  I love using this for up-dos or if you just want to give a quick spray to keep everything in place.   I used this sample I went out and stocked up on the full size bottles!  Will definitely keep using this one in the future!

Shea Moisture 10 in 1 Renewal System Shampoo- This one is technically not empty, I only used it half way because I was not a fan of it. I got this deluxe sample in a Target Beauty Box.   I was just didn’t feel like this got my hair clean enough and after I washed it was just dull and kind of limp.  I tried it twice and that was enough for me!

Clinicure Purifying Scalp Cleanser (Shampoo)- As I mentioned before, soon after I had my daughter, I started losing a lot of hair (a lot!).  While it was happening one of my co-workers recommended a line of Clinicure products that were made for thinning hair.  I started out with a sample pack with a mini size shampoo, conditioner and spray.  My favorite product of all three, was this one, the shampoo.  I know it was for hair loss treatment, but I also just really liked it as a shampoo.  It lathered well, it really made my hair feel clean and it looked great after using it.  I actually bought the large size after this and I have been using it for months.  I can’t really recommend it for hair loss, because mine eventually stopped on its own after a couple months but as just a shampoo, I highly recommend it!

Ecru New York Acacia Protein BB Cream Balm- It did not take long for the BB cream fad to reach hair care products!  I got this deluxe sample in an Ipsy bag a while back.  You are supposed to put a dab in your damp hair after showering and towel drying your hair.  I used this for probably about a month or so and I really didn’t notice any change in my hair.  It says it is supposed to moisturize, volumize, and add shine, but I didn’t really see that so I won’t be repurchasing.

Caviar CC Cream Leave In Hair Perfector- I have heard/read a lot of people say they loved this product, but unfortunately I did not notice a difference with this one either.  Like the BB cream I mentioned above, you are supposed to put a dab of this in your towel dried hair and it’s supposed to do 10 different things to improve your hair.  But unfortunately I didn’t really notice any difference with this one either!  And this one really pricey, so I will definitely not be spending that much on the full size!

That is all of them for this time!  If you know any hair products that you think would help me out or that you want me to try so I'll review, let me know in the comments or on Instagram or Twitter!  And next month will be another Make Up Product Only Empties, which I know if everyone's favorite!  So keep an eye out for that one soon!  Hope everyone enjoys the last month of Spring before Summer is officially here!

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

I know I'm a bit late to the party here, but in case you didn't know yet, Ebates is celebrating their 17th Birthday this week and in honor of that, there are 250 store giving 15% cash back this week!!  That is the most I think I have ever seen!  So if you do not have an Ebates account, now is the time to register and shop and if you do have Ebates, now is just time to shop!  I have listed below all the stores I could see on their website that sell beauty products that are giving back 15% this week.

In case you have been living under a rock and don't know what Ebates is, it is a website that literally pays you to shop.  All you have to do is go to Ebates website, put in the name of the website you want to buy from, it will show you a link (plus sometimes other really good deals and promotions available on top of the cash back will be listed too), you click on that link and it will take you to the website and then you just shop like normal!  If you don't have an Ebates account already, if you use this link to sign up, you will get $10 cash back automatically after your first online purchase using Ebates!  I know so many people who are hesitant or flat out will not sign up for an Ebates account becasue they think it is some kind of scam, which is understandable with all the internet scams that go on everyday. But I can tell you without a doubt, this is not a scam.  I have posted pictures of my Ebates checks on my Instagram account!

Avon
The Body Shop
Rite Aid

Billion Dollar Brows

If you guys have any questions about Ebates or how it works, please leave a comment below or contact me on Instagram and Twitter!  I have been a member for years and would be happy to help!

Products I Regret Buying Part 3

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

Being a beauty product lover (and blogger) one of my favorite things to do is try new beauty products!  Even though I probably have enough of each type of beauty product to last a lifetime, whenever I see or hear about something new, I'm always looking for a good deal to buy and try it!  I have to say most of the time, if it's a product that was recommended by other bloggers or You Tubers, I do like it.  But sometimes I don't and I know everyone loves hearing about the products that don't work out just as much as the ones that do work out!  This way if you are considering buying the product, you can another perspective on it.  So here are the products that recently did not work out for me.  Like everyone says in these posts, please do not be upset if I name a product that you love.  I'm not saying the product is horrible or that I hate the company, I'm simply saying that this product didn't work for me and why.

ELF Tone Correcting Powder- I bought this powder hoping it would be similar or a dupe for the NYX Radiant Finishing Powder.  I know that powder is pretty cheap, but every dollar counts, right? The powders look similar in the pan and they look the same even when you swatch them, but unfortunately they did not work the same.  With the NYX powder, I take a fluffy brush and swirl all the colors together and brush it on my under eye/cheek area and my forehead and it just brightens the areas.  It's not a sheen or a glow like a highlighter, it's just a nice brightening look.  With the ELF powder, I can't even tell I put it on.  I don't feel like my face looks any differently after I apply it.  I don't think made my face look brighter or really correct anything.  Since I don't see any improvement wearing this one, there really is no point to putting it on.

Wet N Wild Idol Eyes Creme Shadow Pencil- I should have known this product was not going to be the greatest.  First, because I never heard anyone talk about it ever (normally I hear a blogger or beauty vlogger mention a product at least once, whether it's good or bad.  Second because it was only $.99.  Now I'm a firm believer that you can find quality products at good/cheap prices, but when things are that cheap, you do have to be more cautious because you are more likely to find not so great items sometimes (let's just say the hidden gems are further and far between when the prices are super low). But I saw this at a drug store and I needed one more Wet N Wild product for a deal, so I bought it.  This was a big fail for me.  When I applied eyeshadow over it, the colors were not a vibrant as when I used other cream eye shadows as a base. I did an eye to eye comparison and there was a huge difference!  And also by the end of the day I felt like my eyeshadow had faded and was barely noticeable on my eyelids.  So I'm trashing this one!

NYX Conceal Correct Contour Palette- I kind of fell for the hype with this one.  When I saw this palette I thought it would be perfect because it had shades for when I was tan or pale and colors that I could put under my eyes to camouflage my dark circles.  The first few times I used this I thought it was really good and I think I actually put it in a monthly favorites.  But then recently I noticed I was never reaching for it.  I started thinking about why and I think the formula is actually not that great.  They are kind of greasy, and the concealer shades are difficult apply over my foundation without messing up the foundation.  And the shades for under the eyes were not as pigmented as I was hoping they would be.  I would have apply a lot to get it to show up and I would have to tug on my under eyes (which anyone over 30 knows is not good).  So unfortunately I'm going to have to pitch this one (I have had it too long to take it back and I'm used it too much to pass it on).

Colour Pop Highlighter in the shade Spoon- This is a just a shade pick regret!  I love Colour Pop highlighters in general, I have a couple other shades that I really enjoy but this one in Spoon is not for me!  Basically, it's a glitter in a jar.  When I put in on my skin, all I see is huge specs of glitter bouncing off the light.  This might be good if you were going to a club or Vegas but for a 30 something mom like me, it's not really necessary to my collection.  So I will be passing this on!

BH Cosmetics 10 Color Professional Blush Palette- Blush palettes are like eye candy for beauty lovers!  I saw it online and wanted it just seeing all the beautiful colors.  As soon as I got it I used one or two of my favorite colors a few times and then I put it away and never reached for it.  Then a couple weeks ago I decided I needed to really try out all the shades and really decide if I should keep it.  After using all the shades, I realized that this palette can be divided two categories: shades that were not pigmented enough and ones that were too pigmented and wouldn't blend out.  There were really only about two shades that I like the shade a the pigment so that was not enough in my mind to keep the entire palette so I'm passing it on.

Laura Geller Baked Liquid Radiance Foundation-  I had two issues with this foundation, the first was it was not full coverage and it was not build-able to full coverage.  I'm a big fan of full coverage foundation, even if it's not full coverage with one coat, I like it to be buildable.  My second issue with this one is the color.  I got this in the lightest shade they make, and it still had an orange-ish tint to it.  I think to make it "radiant" they just made it orangish, but it did not look good on me.  Maybe it I was not so pale it would have worked out, but I would say if you are pale link me, stay away from it.

It Cosmetics Eyelift in a Tube Concealer- This tube is two sided, with a thick concealer on one side and a thin liquid brightener on the other.  I loved the concealer side,it really did a great job covering my dark circles.  But the brightener side ruined all of it!  Putting it over the concealer, it completely broke up the concealer and made it look horrible, I had to completely redo my eyes. And on top of ruining the concealer,  I also just did not think it brightened well.  If it cost less, I would have probably kept it just to use the concealer, but since it was a pricey product, I didn't think it was worth keeping it for a half sized concealer, so I did return it.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks from their Buff Line- I think I probably have the record for buying the most of a product I regret buying. I own seven of these lipsticks and now I regret purchasing them!  I know this sounds crazy... but I'm a huge fan of nude lip products so when I heard Maybelline was coming out this line, I just bought them all.  They looked great in the tube, so I just bought them.  It wasn't until I got them home and started using them did I realize how much I was not a fan of them.  First, the shades are just not vibrant enough for me, a few of them, you can't even tell I put anything on my lips (but not in a "Your Lips But Better" way).  Also, I'm just not a huge fan of the Maybelline lipstick formula.  I like their matte line, but the regular line, the lipsticks just slip right off my lips.  If I eat, drink or even just rub my lips together too many times, all the lipstick is gone. So these have just been sitting on my shelf for months!

Be A Bombshell Eye Base in Submissive- The consistency is very similar to the Maybelline Color Tattoos, but they are not as pigmented.  I felt like I had to dip my finger back into the product 4 or 5 times to get as much color as with one or two swipes from a Color Tattoo.  I'm all about saving time, so I'm going to stick with the ones that get the job done faster!

Tarte Gifted Mascara- This is not a normal product regret.... I actually do like this mascara, I regret buying it because I already owned it and I didn't know it.  I didn't know it because I had the same thing in a different tube.  This mascara is EXACTLY the same as the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes.  It has the same wand, the formula is exactly the same and it tries out just as fast.  Like I said I do like both mascaras, it's volumizing and lengthening (I use it when I want a more subtle eye look, it doesn't give you a false lash look, just enhances).  I wish someone had told me this because I already have two tubes of the Light, Camera, Lashes and I could have just used them instead of buying this again in a different tube.

That is all the products that I regret buying lately! Again, please don't get offended if I mentioned something you love!  Everyone is different and can have different opinions!  But I'm still very open minded about all of these, if you know of a different way I can use any of there or if you have any tips, please let me know in the comments or on Twitter or Instagram! And also let me know any product you regret buying so I'll know for next time I go shopping!

Happy Savings Everyone!

April Favorites

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

A spring month has come and gone!  Spring is my favorite season so I'm sad to see it go, but there is one more month of spring left and then it's summer which is fun too!  Like always, when I do my monthly favorites I just go into my bedroom and bathroom and pull out the products I loved the most that month.  This month I actually found a lot of repeats of other months so I'm sorry if some of it seems repetitive, but it just proves how much I love them!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water- I know this product can be used to remove all your make up, but I prefer it as an eye make up remover (for the rest of my face I prefer face wipes).  And it's quickly becoming my favorite eye make up remover (even beating my old holy grail product).  It's not oily, it doesn't irritate my eyes and it takes off all my eye make up without took much rubbing or work.  Just purchased a second one.

Smashbox Baked Fusion Softlights- I got this during the most recent Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Event and I have really been enjoying it.  I know most people would probably use this a highlight or blush or bronzer topper, but I'm really pale and I like tanish blushes, so I have been using it for a blush and I really like it. It makes a really nice color to the cheeks and I don't even need to highlight after.

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation- I was really surprised that I like this so much because I'm not really a fan of the original True Match Lumi foundation, but I have really been enjoying this one!  I have especially liked it on a bit hotter days when I wanted a thin formula but I still want full coverage.  But I have to say it is a bit pricey, so I'm still on the fence about repurchasing, I think it will depend on exactly how often this compact lasts.

Physicians Formula Conceal RX Concealer- I know you all are probably sick of seeing this product, but like I said, I just go into my make up and pull out what I'm really using and I have been using this at least a couple days a week.  For anyone who wants to know what this concealer is like, I consider this the drug store IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer.  Just like that on, it's a thicker formula than most under eye concealer, but it provides really good coverage and it doesn't crease when you set it with a powder.

Benefit They're Real Tinted Lash Primer- I got this in sample size in a recently Sephora or Ulta purchase and I was so excited to get it!  The full size is pricey and I feel like mascara samples last almost as long as they full size.  I love the They're Real mascara, so I'm not surprised I loved this too.  I feel like this primer helped with the definition and volume of the mascaras I have paired it with, but especially the Benefit one I'm using right now, Roller Lash (it might just be me, but I have noticed when I use a lash primer, they usually end up working best with the mascaras in that beauty line).

Maybelline Pumped Up! Colossal Volume Express Mascara- Just started using this mascara this month and I have been enjoying it.  The wand can get a bit messy (because it's huge) but I does give me a lot of length and volume, I normally do about 2-3 coats.  But I only need to use one mascara which is rare for me, so I'm really impressed (sometimes I use my Cover Girl Clump Crusher if there is some clumping, but I don't count that, haha).

Wet N Wild Picture Perfect Setting Spray- I got this in my CVS haul a while back.  The scent is not the greatest but it's a really good setting spray.  I feel like it helps keep my make up in place all day.  Just wish the bottle was a bit bigger, I'm already almost done with it!

NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Satin Ribbon- Even after I did the Battle of the Liquid Lipsticks, I'm still trying out new ones!  I got a few of these when NYX was buy two get one free from Ulta.  I really liked all three.  It's rare to find nude lipsticks that look well in liquid lipstick on the lips and these do!  I like all three shades that I got, but this one is my favorite.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow- I loved the formula of this liquid lipstick in Lolita and Lolita 2 when I tried them for my Battle of the Liquid lipsticks (click on link for formula details).  So I thought I should also get in a my favorite, nude and of course I have been loving this one too!

Nudestix Lip + Cheek Pencil in Whisper- This shade might be my favorite shade of nude ever.  I have worn it 3 or 4 times this month and I was in love with my lips each time, no matter which lip gloss I paired with it.  I have tried a few others and I have not liked any of them half as much as this one, but I'm going to keep trying the rest of the line just in case (and buying like 3 back ups of this one! Haha).

ELF Lip Exfoliator- With all the liquid lipsticks I have been trying, I have been exfoilating my lips almost every morning and this is my favorite on.  It's way less messy than ones in pots.  The only downside of this one is that you go through it really quickly but it's only $3 and you can get it at Target, so I don't mind repurchasing often!

That is all the products I have been loving this month!  I just got from things from the drug store (look out for a haul soon!) so I'm sure I will have some more favorites soon!

Try this, Not That

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

I love doing my Products I Regret posts because if a product doesn't work well, I want to let people know so they possibly avoid making the same mistake I did.  But I started thinking about it, and I wanted to take it a step further, instead of just telling you about a product I didn't like, I thought I would also tell you a product that I would use instead of that one.  So below I took the products that I listed in my first "Products I Regret Buying" post and letting you know what I use instead of that one:

NOTThe Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer
TRY THIS: Wet N Wild Mega-Glo Illunminating Palette in Catwalk Pink- This is exactly what I am looking for in a pink highlighter.  It's a really glowy highlighter, that is just subtlety pink.  I feel like the Cindy Lou Manizer was almost too pink.  It was too pinkly pigmented to be a highlight but too shiney to be a blush.  The Wet N Wild one I think got the pink highlight concept perfectly!

NOTLorac Pro Palette
TRY THIS:  Urban Decay Naked 1, 2 or 3.  This is a really tough one for me.  Even though I was not personally a fan of the Lorac Pro palette, I have to admit it is a really versatile palette that you can make a lot of really different looks with.  Most of the other palettes I own and can recommend are not as versatile, so it's hard for me to suggest an alternative that I have used.  So I would just recommend the big staple in the beauty community, the Naked palettes.  All 3 are amazing quality shadows that will make amazing eye looks together.  Whichever shades you gravitate towards, warm, cool or roses, I would just pick up the palette in the shade, you will not regret it.

NOTToo Faced Candlelight Highlighter
TRY THIS: ELF Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls- This highlighter can give you a nice subtle glow to your checks, but you can still tell that it's there!  With the Too Face Candlelight, I just didn't not feel like it was pigmented enough and you could hardly I had applied anything but my blush.  With ELF, you get a nice shine but it's still subtle enough to wear to work.

NOTNYX Butter Lipsticks
TRY THIS: NYX Butter Glosses- This one was a tough one for me because I'm not the biggest fan of moisturizing lipsticks.  I gravitate more towards the matte formula ones.  So I'm just going to suggest the NYX Butter Glosses.  I know they are not a lipstick alternative, but they are an AMAZING NYX product and it has the word Butter in it!  They are seriously one of my favorite lip gloss formulas ever.  I always have at least one of them in my purse.  They are great to throw on alone or with a lipstick (which I would not do with a lot of other lip glosses) and they always look and feel great.

NOTELF Corrective Concealer Palette
TRY THIS: Physicians Formula Correct & Cover Concealer (or Conceal Sticks)-Perfect timing for this one!  Corrective color concealers are all the rage right now!  Unfortunately I have not tried any of the new ones that have been coming out lately, so I'm just going to mention the color concealer I have been using for years, the Physicians Formula ones.  Physicians Formula has been making concealers in yellow and green for a very long time.  They have these in concealer sticks, tubes and small compacts.  I have tried all three of both shades and I love them all.  They are pigmented (unlike the ELF palette) and they cover really well.  They aren't greasy and they don't crease.  And you can always get them cheap the drug store with sales and coupons!

NOT: Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer
TRY THIS:  Too Faced Hangover RX Face Primer- This is not a brightening primer, but I have not yet found a brightening foundation that I like!  I have tried a few, including the Benefit That Gal and I just feel like after I apply my foundation I do not see the brightening effects on my skin.  So I thought I would just mention a really good, hydrating primer instead.  The Hangover RX is almost like a moisturizer/primer combo.  When you pump it out and first apply it's like a moisturizer, but them as you rub it in, it leaves your skin feeling like a primer.  And I do feel like it helps my makeup last longer!

NOT: Mary Kay Jelly Lip Gloss in Teddy Bare
TRY THIS: Nars Lip Gloss in Strip Tease- I'm so sorry to be recommending a such a pricey lip gloss as the alternative for this one, but I have been loving these glosses lately!  It's my favorite formula in lip gloss ever (very pigmented, does not feel sticky or heavy) and the color is very similar to Mary Kay Teddy Bare, but much more pigmented!  If you really want an alternative from the drug store, my second recommendation would be Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in Nude Touch).

NOT: Almay Longwear & Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Pads
TRY THIS: Almay Oil Free Eye Make Up Remover Pads- This one is simple, I love the Almay eye make up removers, just not in the Longwear & Waterproof verision.  That one is super oily and pulls out my contacts.  The normal one, is not oily at all, and does not bother my contacts at all.  And I don't normally wear waterproof make up, but I never had a hard time removing any make up with the normal ones, so I don't think you really even need the other one no matter what you are wearing.

NOT: NYC Blushable Crème Stick in Gold Radiance
TRY THIS: Revlon Photo Ready Skin Lights Face Illuminator in Bare Light or Laura Geller Gilded Honey- I did not pick another highlighter in stick form because I'm not a face of stick blushes and highlighters.  I don't feel like they have sanitary and I also tend to have a heavy hand with them, and it ends up moving my foundations and powders.  So I picked a cream and a powder highlight for alternatives.  The Revlon one is a peach gold that leaves a nice moisturizing glow to your cheeks.  The Gilded Honey is one of the most gorgeous and pigmented highlighters I have ever seen, but sometimes I think the shine can be too much.  I will not wear one to work.

NOT: Scott Barnes Body Bling Moisturizing Shimmering Body Lotion
TRY THIS:  Million Dollar Tan- If you are super pale, like me, I think you should stay far, far away from the Scott Barnes Body Bling and stick with Million Dollar Tan.  I use the darker version, and I'm super pale!  It gives you a really nice, even , natural looking tan.  It's also super easy to apply and dries quickly (which is important to Moms) and it lasts 3-4 depending on showering.  This will be my third or fourth summer using it.

NOT: Physicians Formula Super CC Powder
TRY THIS: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder- This is one  of my favorite face powders of all time.  It's perfect for setting you foundation and even gives a little but of extra coverage.  I have seriously gone through like 2 or 3 of these, and with the amount of powders I have, that says something! Haha

That is all the products from my first Products I Regret post.  I hope you liked my recommendations and found this useful!  I have already done second Products I Regret Buying post, so if everyone like this post, then I will do a similar one with those products soon also!  And I'm actually working on a third post for Products I Regret Buying post right now, so look out for that one soon also!

Pantene Pro-V Airspray Hair Spray Review

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

I recently got a chance to sample the new Pantene Pro-V Airspray Hair Spray and I wanted to tell you guys about it.  If you have been reading my blog for a while then you know that I am a big fan of Pantene Pro-V products.  I have been using the shampoo and conditioner since high school and it's still my all time favorite (the conditioner at least, shampoo I have found better).  I believe they have had hair sprays in the past, but they were not really note worthy, just your basic sticky sprays.  But when I saw the really cute name on this one, I knew I wanted to try it.

I did get this sample from my friends at Influenster, but I can honestly say if I had not received it, I would have bought it myself (and still will).

I really like this hairspray, I can say this might be my favorite one from the drug store now (it's probably a tie with this one).  First, I will say, this is not a hair spray for a complicated updo that you want to stay completely frozen on your head (click here to see that I use for that).  This hair spray is more for fly aways from casual up dos or when your hair is down and you want it to look sleek.

Here are my favorite aspects:
  • Pleasant scent
  • Does not make my hair sticky/crunchy
  • Controls fly aways or stubborn "baby hairs" (if you have them, you know what they are)
  • Can get for a reasonable price at the drug store (don't forget sales and coupons!  Manufacturers always put out the best coupons when a product is new and they want you to try it!)
  • Lasts a long time (I only had a mini can and it lasted me almost a month)
Well that is all I have to say about this new hair spray.  It's definitely going to be on my stock up list and I will be looking out for coupons on it in the future to purchase more!  I hope you guys all try it and love it as much as I do!  I love when I can tell you guys about quality products that are sold at an affordable price and can be even cheaper with sales and coupons!  Please let me know if you have any questions below!
