February Favorites

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

Another month has come and gone, this one even quicker than most since it's a short month (even with an extra day)!  This was actually a fun month for me beauty-wise because I was trying out a lot of new beauty products that I have wanted to try for a while!  I did a drug store haul at the end of January so I spent most of February trying the products out.  Plus I also did a Battle of the Liquid Lipsticks post, so I had to try all my liquid lipsticks for many, many days in a row to review and compare them.  Here are the products that really stood out for me this month:

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water- I was really surprised when I notice this, but this is the only product from my recent drug store haul that I picked for my favorites.  I did like some other products from that haul but I normally only put products in my favorites that 1. I l-o-v-e and 2. That I use very often for most of the month.  I used this to remove my eye make up almost every night since I got it (you can't tell in this picture but the bottle is 1/3 empty).  As a contact wearer, I really love being able to use an eye make up remover that I don't have to pull on my eyes and feels exactly like water when applying.  I don't have to worry about oil getting on my contacts or chemicals stinging my eyes.  Just got another coupon for this, so I will definitely keep using!

Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser- I put this product in my 2016 Make Up Use Up because I have a lot of open concealers right now, but I will be sad when this one is gone because it's one my favorite from the drug store.  It has a thin consistency which I like and I get it in the brightner shade so the pinkish tint helps cover my under eye circles well.

Josie Maran Pure Argan Milk- I got this in a 500 point perk from Sephora recently and I have been loving using it right before bed.  It's like a combination of a lotion and a oil (kind of like milk).  It goes on the skin nicely, smells nice and I like to apply it before bed as my nighttime moisturizer.

Revlon Super Lusterous Lipgloss- This is going to sound crazy, but my favorite part of this lip gloss is the smell.  Don't get me wrong, it's a really great gloss, it's a nice nudish pink shade and it feels nice on the lips, but the scent is my favorite part.  It smells like ice cream, but I don't mean grocery store ice cream, I mean the kind you get from an ice cream parlor where they make it there.  Every time I smell it I remember when my parents would take me to a local parlor in the summer when I was a kid and it's nice to remember.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip in Midi- As I mentioned, this month I did a Battle of the Liquid Lipsticks this month and I used a lot of them for research.  This was a favorite of mine.  When I applied this one, after it dried I couldn't feel it on my lips at all.  It also did not transfer on anything when eating, drinking or kissing.

Colour Pop Lippie Stick in Tootsi- When I ordered the ultra matte lipsticks, I also checked out the lippie page to see if they had any new shades I would be interested in and I order this one.  It's a mauvish nude and I have really been liking it.  I normally go for tan or pinkish nudes, but this one has been a nice (subtle) change.

Maybelline Master Fix Setting & Perfecting Loose Powder- I am obsessed with this powder!  I love this for setting my eye under concealer or for setting my face.  It makes my face look flawless, but never cakey like some other powders with color can often due.  I have tried to the Nars powder that is similar to this one, and I prefer this drug store one!

Milani Blush in Rose D'Oro- This is favorite of mine in the winter months.  In winter I prefer blushes that are a bit darker and this is a deeper pink shade that still has a beautiful sheen to it.  If you are not a fan of wearing highlighters, I would definitely recommend this one, because you can look really glowy without a separate highlighter product.

Benefit Roller Lash & Cover Girl Super Sizer- I heard so much about these two mascaras for I tried them, so I was really excited to try them both!  But the first 2-3 times I used both of them, I hated them!  I was so disappointed!  They both made me look like I had 5 lashes (long thick lashes, but still only 5 lashes).  But since they are so loved by so many people, I kept using them, determined to figure out what all the hype was about.  Finally, on like the fifth time using each one, they started looking really good.  Both them make my lashes so long and volumized that I don't need to use a second mascara (which I very often have to do, even for mascaras I like).  I guess they both just need to dry out a little bit, but now they are both amazing!

Maybelline Master Prime Blur & Smooth- I had this primer for a bit, but I had to get through a few old ones before I pulled this one out.  This primer applies like a lotion, but then has a silicone-like, primer feeling on the skin after it's applied.  I feel like it does blur my imperfections a bit (not a pimple, but slight imperfections) and is a good base before make up.

Sephora Ultimate Oil In Gel Lipstick Remover- This was a life saver during the Battle of the Liquid Lipsticks.  I would take this with me everyday in case I had a "lip product emergency".  If I did need to use it quickly I would just squeeze a little on my lips, work it on my lips like a gloss and than use a tissue to get all the product off my lips.  Definitely a must have if you are going to wear liquid lipsticks regularly (I got this off Sephora's website when it was on sale for $5- hopefully they will bring it back soon!).

Shiseido Eyelash Curler- This is pricey to me for an eye lash curler, but I really do love it. It makes my eye lashes longer than I thought they could be.  And the curl does last a long time.

That's all I was loving this month. We have been having a mild winter in PA this year and I hope it continues in March and before we know it, it will be spring again!  Can't wait!  What have you been enjoying lately from the beauty department?  let me know in the comments below or on Istagram or Twitter!

Battle of the Liquid Lipsticks

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

In case you have been living under a rock, liquid lipsticks have been HUGE on blogs and You Tube in the past couple months.  It's like every beauty company out there has come out with their liquid lipstick in the past month or two.  At first I was hesitant since it's winter time and they seemed really drying but after hearing about 500 different kinds from everyone I follow I finally caved and tried one... and then another... and then a bunch more!  Each brand seemed so different that I kept wanting to try one from each brand and compare them.  So after mentally comparing them for weeks, I thought I would share all my observations with you guys in case you have been on the fence about this trend like I was.

NOTE: With all these liquid lipsticks I wore lip liner (NYX Stick Lip Liner in Nude) and chap stick (Nivea Kiss of Moisture or Mac Prep and Prime) before applying.  And to remove I used Sephora Ultimate Oil-In-Gel Lipstick Remover.  I will also mention what shades I have because I know some lighter vs darker shades may appear differently.

Kat Von D (in Lolita and Lolita 2):
-Does not transfer when drinking or kissing (transfers a bit when eating)
-These did make my lips dry, but not an uncomfortable dry, basically just felt like nothing was on the lips.
-Took 8 hours to notice color starting to fade (also was developing a small whitish line on the inside of my mouth, but was able to wipe it away).
-Would recommend this for a wedding or party or somewhere that you lip product needs to look good but you will not be able to touch up for hours.
-Can not touch up (not that you would normally need to)

Too Faced Melted (in Chocolate Honey, Melted Sugar, Melted Nude, Chocolate Milkshake):
-Feel act most like a normal lipstick (can touch up, can where lip gloss on top)
-Does transfer/wear off when eating or drinking
-Feels drying on lips (uncomfortable dry) if you wear it alone on the lips after about 2 hours (normally wear with lip gloss to avoid this feeling)
-I'm the only one I have heard notice this, but I feel like the formula of the Chocolate ones is thinner then the original line (and a little less pigmented)

NYX Liquid Suede (in Sandstorm):
- Dries 95%, but never completely dries
- Does transfer to cups, napkins, etc.
- Can wear for 4-5 hours before it's get uncomfortable dry
- Very pigmented
- Can not touch up

Milani Matte Lip Creme (in Amore Matte):
- Must be careful when applying (very easy to apply too much)
- Does dry completely (within 2-3 minutes of applying)
- You can feel it on the lips, but it does not feel dry or uncomfortable
- Does show fine lines in lips
- Does not transfer when drinking or kissing (transfers a bit when eating)

L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss (in Bare Attraction):
- Very similar to the NYX Matte Lip Creams (formulas feel very similar on the lips, but they are a little less matte)
- Don't dry all the way, very creamy on the lips (would say it dries about 70%)
- Does not look matte to me on the lips (looks like a creamy lipstick)
- Has the "L'Oreal scent" when first applied, but goes away quickly
- Does transfer and wear off when when eating and drinking
- Does wear off after 2 hours or so if worn on it's own

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid (in Nude Thrill):
- Very similar formula to the NYX Matte Lip Cream (both creamy but dry matte)
- Does dry, but takes almost a half hour
- Does transfer on cups, napkins, etc.
- Does wear off naturally over couple hours
- Can reapply

Revlon Ulta HD Matte Lip Color (in Seduction):
- Smells like Fruit Punch
- At least with the light shade I had, I had to apply at least 3 layers to get solid, even color
- Stays wet for about 15-20 minutes, then for like an hour or two it's tacky/sticky
- Gets uncomfortable dry after 4-5 hours
- Does transfer on cups, napkins, etc.
- Color stains lips even after it's wiped off

Color Pop Ulta Matte Lip (in Beeper and Midi):
- Dries within 30 seconds
- Dries completely and feels like nothing is in your lips
- Does not transfer when drinking or kissing (transfers a tiny bit when eating)
- Can wear for about 5-6 hours before it feels uncomfortably dry

Essence Liquid Lipstick (in Almost Real):
- This is basically a very pigmented lip gloss
- Never dries, feels glossy on the lips- just like a lip gloss!
- Does transfer and wears off over time (just like a lip gloss)
- I do like this as a lip gloss and will continue to use it as that, but it's not a typical liquid lipstick to me

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick (in Buffest Beige):
- This came out before the liquid lipstick craze
- Can be tricky to apply (can't see real color on lips until it dries)
- Dries completely within 2 minutes
- After dry it still has a tacky feeling (can feel a bit thicker on the lips than some other liquid lipsticks but this also keeps it from ever feeling super dry)
- Does not transfer when drinking or kissing (transfers a tiny bit when eating)
- Can not touch up

Mac Pro Longwear Lustre Lipcolour(in Boss Brown):
- This came out before the liquid lipstick craze
- Dries completely within 1 minute
- Prefer to not use the clear gloss side (it has chunks of glitter), but it does keep my lips from getting too dry
- Lasts 5-6 hours before wearing off
- Does not transfer when drinking or kissing (transfers a tiny bit when eating)
- Can not touch up

Battle Winners:

Best to Wear to Special Event: Kat Von D or NYX Liquid Suede
Best to Wear to Work: Too Faced Melted
Favorite Shade: Too Face Melted Nude
Most Comfortable to Wear: Colour Pop
Longest Lasting: Revlon ColorStay Ultimate
Regret Purchases: Revlon Ultra HD & Essence

My Personal Favorite; Too Face Melted- these are not the most long lasting, but these are just the easiest for me to use and I like the shade selection the best.  I don't mind reapplying when I'm wearing one that feel comfortable in, in a shade I love.

Product Empties: February 2016

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

I normally do a product empties every couple months but I have so many empties right now that I think I'm going to start doing these one a month.  So this is my February Empties, stay tuned to next month because I'm going to be switching up how I post my empties and I hope everyone will like it!  If you missed any of my past empties, check here: Product Empties #1Product Empties #2Product Empties #3Product Empties #4 Product Empties #5 and Product Empties #6.

Tresemme Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment- I liked this product as a conditioner. But I don’t think it’s thick enough to be considered a mask for my hair.  When I do a hair mask I expect my hair to be softer and silky afterwards.  But with this, it took my knots out and smoothed my hair some, but it was not the same feeling as a mask.  But it was a good conditioner, I would repurchase if it was on sale and I had coupons again.

Soap & Glory Scrub of Your Life- The Soap & Glory products smell amazing to me!  When I wear their hand cream I just smell my hands all day!  And this body scrub has the same scent, so I love it too!  Also, it is a really great body scrub, it exfoliates really well but it not too harsh on the skin.  I am so happy that they sell this line at Ulta now (especially for cheaper than it was a Sephora).

NYX Stacked Mascaras- I have tried a lot of NYX mascaras and this was the first one I tried that I continued to use after the first time.  I liked this mascara for lengthening my lashes and then I would apply a second mascara for volume.  I do this a lot with my mascaras, I find one that is good for length and one that is good for volume and I pair them together (I have probably only tried a handful of mascaras that actually do both at the same time!).  I did enjoy this mascara for give length and definition before the volumizing one, but I don’t know if I would repurchase because I am always searching for mascaras that will do both.  I might repurchase if Ulta had one of the 40% off sales in the future!

Bath and Body Works Foaming Hand Soap- I have talked about this soap many, many time on Instagram and past blogs so I’m not going to say how much I like it (you can probably tell by the 3 empty bottles in the picture!).  I’m just going to mention to people who buy drug store or grocery store soap instead because they think it’s cheaper, if you buy it when BBW is having a really good sale and they send out their coupons, you really can stock up and get a better price than at other stores.  I stock up every season and I will buy enough to get me to the next season (and the next sale!)

Million Dollar Tan Cabana Extreme Dark Sunless TanningLotion- This is my holy grail self tanner.  I prefer the liquid spray formula, but I love all the products in the line!  It gives me a nice, even tan without a lot of fuss.  I just dry off after a shower and put this on like I would any lotion.  I just have to rub it in a but more than usual lotion and be sure that I get it on all the skin that will show.  I would say my tan lasts about 3 to 4 days without reapplying as long as you do not shower every day.  I got this off Haute Look, but you can also buy it on or their website.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes- I used a full size of these make up wipes in the past and I remember not liking them at much because they were not moist enough.  But I got these in my Walmart Beauty Box and they were the perfect size for travel, so I tried them again and I really liked these packs.  They were all really moist and a great size for a wipe.  It’s funny but I would say I would repurchase the travel size, but not the full size of these again.

Mally High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Starburst- The says this is a liquid lipstick, but I think it performed just like a lip gloss, so that's what i thought of it as.  I struggled with whether or not to keep this lip gloss for a while before finally throwing it out.  I have had it for probably close to a year and I’ve used it probably about 5-7 times, but I realized that I really didn’t like and there was no point to keep it when I has so many great lip glosses I could be using.  First, I really hate the packaging. I hate the click gloss packages, when you click up a product, it’s basically impossible to click up exactly the right amount of product.  And if you don’t use it for a while, the bristles can get rigid and gunky.  But I could overlook the packaging if I liked the product a lot, but it was just a basic gloss and it I didn’t really have a great color either.  If you wear it over top of a lipstick (which is how I normally wear it) it basically looks like a clear gloss.  I hate trashing things but since I have had it for a while and used it, I didn’t think anyone would really want it, so I’m tossing it!

Got2b Smooth Operator Smoothing Hairspray-  This is another product I don’t like, but used for a while anyway!  When I first started using it, I just thought it was a light hold spray that I could use for fly aways.  But overtime I realized that even when I would spray a good amount in certain areas that would need it, it would still not hold.  So I’m throwing it out while it’s still half full.  I got this for less than a dollar with sales and coupons, so I don’t have to feel too bad about wasting money on it!

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub- As I mentioned in an Ulta haul, this is my holy grail body exfoliator.  It smells amazing; it’s really grainy with gentle scrub particles, so it really exfoliates well without irritating the skin.  I love to use this before I self-tan.  Ulta has sales on this often, plus you can use their coupons on it also.

That is all my empties this time!  What products did you just finish up?  Let me know in the comments or Instagram or Twitter! Like I said, my empties bin is still overflowing so I'll be posting more empties next month!

Why The Hype? Overrated Beauty Products

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

I recently did a blog post where I mentioned the products that I felt deserved more hype than they have received.  It was so fun creating that list that I decided to do another list about the opposite type of products... the ones I feel have too much hype.  Like I mentioned before, I watch a lot of You Tube videos, read a lot of blogs and go on social media (Twitter and Instagram) to hear about beauty products.  A lot of times, I will hear a lot of people talking about the same product over and over and the product gets really hyped up and everyone wants to try it.  I would say most of the time, that hype is deserved and I fall in love with the product, but every once in a while I will try a hyped up product and wonder why people are talking about.  Once you hear a lot about something, you get really excited when you actually get it and these products below just did not live up to the hype for me.  Please remember like with any post where I talk about products I don't love, this is just my opinion and it doesn't mean I hate the whole company, this is just me reporting my experience.

ELF Blush Quads- Don't everyone kill me for saying this one!  This one is actually kind of a complicated one for me to explain.  I don't think these quads are a bad product, I just don't think they deserved the hype that they got.  I feel like people (including myself) only went crazy for these when they first came out because blush quads are rare (when this came out they were rare, a lot more have been coming out recently) and they looked so nice in the pan.  But when I actually tried them out, the blushes were just ordinary.  The formula is fine, but the colors were just nothing special.  I prefer the shades of the other ELF single blushes that I have over these (they are just prettier and more unique).  I just don't reach for these and I bet now that they hype has worn down a lot of other people who got them aren't either.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water- This is a product that I still own and I really like, but not for the reason that it was hyped up about.  When this first came out, everyone said this was a great primer and it helped so much with their foundation!  I did not get that feeling from this at all.  I don't feel like it primed by face or made my make up stay on longer.  Fortunately I read the box for this and it said that you can also use this to refresh your makeup or make your face look less powdery (like the Mac Fix Plus does).  So after it failed as a primer, I used it to make my face less powdery (I have oily skin, so I'm a chronic over-powderer) and it worked great.  So I love it for that, but I do not understand why everyone hyped this up as a good primer- it feels like water on your face!

Bite Agave Lip Mask- This lip mask actually works pretty well, but I just don't think it's worth the hype or money, because in my opinion it's just flavored Vaseline.  It has the same look, feel and consistency as Vaseline.  So even though I wouldn't call this product a fail, I just don't think it's worth all the hype.  I think if the people who hyped this tried Vaseline (normal Vaseline or the lip product that Vaseline makes), they would not think this one is worth the much higher price tag.

Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment- I know a lot of people are going to think I'm crazy for this one, but I recently got a sample of this in an order and I just did not understand what all the fuss was about with this one.  Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a good exfoliator, but I heard soooo much about this one beforehand and how it was going to change my life that I was really underwhelmed when I tried it.  Maybe some of the effects have to be seen over time, I only had a sample so I only got two uses out of it.  Also, I think the price tag is really steep, I would consider buying it, but only if I could find a sale that cut the price at least in half, if not more.

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask-  I heard a lot about this mask in the past couple months so I was excited to try it, but I was kind of let down by it.  I just didn't see any amazing results on my skin after I used it.  It says on the tub that it's a hydrator, so maybe people with dry skin would see better results but I have combo/oily skin and I just wasn't impressed. I had a deluxe size sample and it was big enough that I used it three times and my skin felt smooth and moist afterwards, but not much different than any other mask (and this one is pricey for a full size).

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion- I do like this primer, but I just don't understand why it gets SO much hype on You Tube and blogs.  I feel like everyone who has a blog or You Tube channel has done a look using this primer at least once (if not every single time).  Like I said, I do like this one and have used it many times, but I feel like there are so many other eye primers that are just as good (and way less expensive) (and I swear the ELF one is basically an exact dupe for this one).  I just don't understand why this is the only one that gets most of the hype...

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder- I feel like every spring beauty lovers pull out their favorite bronzers and talk about them all summer long and this one is usually on the top of everyone list.  I, of course had to jump on the band wagon and bought it (super cheap and great for pale skin, you know I'm there!).  I wanted this to work for me so bad, but every time I tried to use it, I just looked muddy/dirty.  I tried many times and I blended as well as I could, but I could not make it work. So frustrating since I have heard so many people say it works great for them!

Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara- I loved the Hypnose mascara and the Hypnose Star mascara, so when I saw that people were raving about this mascara I thought I would definitely love it... But unfortunately I did not.  First when I opened it, the formula too liquid like and it made it very messy to apply.  So I let it dry out for a week or two and that helped and it was alright (it gave some volume, but not enough length and I had to use another mascara to separate some lashes that clumped together after applying).  But then it dried out too much and began flaking after a month or so. I expect more from a high end (high priced) mascara.

That's all I have for now.  What products did you feel were too hyped up?  Let me know and maybe save me from buying them! Haha

Where's The Hype? Underrated Products

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

If you read beauty blogs or watch You Tube videos often, then you hear about a lot of beauty products that people are recommending.  Most blogs and videos are telling you about products the person thinks are great and that you should try.  When I go shopping, a lot of times I will take people's recommendations and pick out the talked about items, but sometimes other things will catch my eye (or I will have a coupon or see a sale).  And sometimes I will try something and think "This is amazing, why is no one talking about this?  Where is the hyper for this product?"  Since no one is talking about these product, I wanted to give them some of the hype they deserve:

Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation & Powder- I heard these products talked about by one or two You Tubers, but I just don't feel like that was enough for such good products!  Both the foundation and powder are amazing and I think everyone should have been raving about them.  I feel like the foundation is similar to the Cover Girl Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation that everyone does love.  The face powder is exactly one of my favorite from the drug store.

Too Faced Lip Insurance- This is a must have for me in the winter.  My lips get super chapped all the time in the winter and this lip primer stops me from getting cracked and chapped lips all day long.  It also helps keep my lip product last longer on my lips.  I have literally only heard other person ever mention this and it just shocks me that more people don't wear this in the winter!  Am I the only one with chapped lips??

Sonia Kashuk Ulta Luxe Lipgloss- I love these lip glosses and I literally don't think I have ever read or watched anyone ever talk about it.  They are highly pigmented, light weight and don't make your lips really goopy or sticky.  It also comes with a brush applicator that is nice to apply.  I really don't understand why no one talks about it!

The Balm Lipstick (Mai Billsbepaid)- I got this lipstick from a friend a year or so ago and if I hadn't I probably wouldn't have even known it existed.  When you talk about The Balm you usually just hear about highlighters and blushes, you don't really hear about foundations, concealers, lipsticks, etc.  But this lipstick has actually become one of my go-to, wear all the time ones.  It's a very pretty nude/your lips but better shade that looks great on it's on or with any lip gloss.  The formula is a but matte, but not over drying and it last a long time on the lips.  I am interested in trying out more shades, but I highly recommend this one!

Revlon Blushes-  In the past year, Revlon reformulated and repackaged their blushes and I really didn't hear anyone talk about it.  I personally liked the old ones they used to have (they were not as pigmented, but you could build them up to look really pretty) so I tried the new ones right away and I really liked them too.  They are really well pigmented and come in a range of really pretty shades.  They last all day and certain shades even provide a nice glow along with color.  I feel like drug store blushes in general don't get talked about too often and I think these definitely deserve more hype!

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme- I feel like so many liquid lipsticks came out at the same time that this one kind of got lost in the shuffle.  I heard one or two people mention it, but I think it's one of my favorite of all the ones I have tried so it deserves more attention!  You have to be careful when applying (it's very easy to use too much), but if you apply it right it will look gorgeous on the lips and lasts all day!  It doesn't transfer and I have worn it through a meal before and it still looks good.

Laura Geller Spackle Make Up Primer- I got a deluxe sample size of this primer a while back and I loved it.  I loved it so much that I recently bought the full size too!  This is a gel based formula primer that helps your make up last longer.  I think is perfect for summer when you don't want a lot of thick layers on your face.  It's a light gel that won't make your face feel heavy or clog your pore.  I can't remember where I got the sample, but more people need to try this one because it's really good and I never would have known about it if I didn't get the sample somehow, no one ever mentions it!

Physicians Formula Conceal RX Physicians Strengthen Concealer- Physicians Formula has really good sales at CVS often, so when I was thinking of buying something from the line I remembered that one You Tuber talk about this concealer being good, so I picked it up.  And I'm really glad I did because I love it!  I'm on my third tube of it right now! I feel like this one is very similar to the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer, this is the drug store equivalent.  So if you like that one (a little thicker formula, really good coverage), you should try this one!  So of course I wonder, why is everyone talking about the It Cosmetics one and no one talking about this one??  This one should have hype too!

The Entire Essence Beauty Line- I never hear any one talk about this make up brand and it's in Ulta stores!  If you have not heard of this brand before, it is one of the smaller ones, but almost all Ulta stores have a small display of their products.  Not everything they have is amazing (I'm not a huge fan of their original lipstick line and some of their mascaras did not work out for me) but they have a lot of really good products that no one mentions! Their blushes are some of the prettiest, creamiest blushes that I own.  I would definitely put them in my top 5 of all time!  Same with their eyeshadows, they are super pigmented and creamy feeling!  I love the gorgeous shimmer that some of them have!  The also released a line a year or two ago called "Beauty Beats" and there was a highlighter in that line that is one of the most used highlighters I have, I'm waiting to hit pan on it!  It's just gives a gorgeous shimmer to your cheeks that is subtle, but still noticeable.  They also reformulated their lipsticks last year and they are not the most long lasting, but they are really nice and in beautiful colors.  If you see the display at Ulta, check it out!  It really is worth a look... and more hype!

That's everything I could think of right now!  But I'm always interested in finding more hidden gems, so if you have any make up products that you love that you never hear anyone talk about, please let me know in the comments or on Instagram and Twitter!

New Drug Store Product Mini-Reviews

Welcome Beauty Bargain Hunters!

As you probably saw, I recently did a huge haul of the newly released beauty products at the drug store.  Since a lot of you are probably wondering if you should be running to the drug store and picking some of these up yourselves, I thought I would give you some mini-reviews on some of the products I have used so far.  Now please remember these are basically just first impressions, I have only used most of these one or two times. Let me know if you want more thorough reviews on any of these and I can do that later after I have used them more often.  But here are my first thoughts:

Wet N Wild Illumi-Naughty Highighting and Concealing Pen- I should have known better than to try this one, because this kind of product never works for me!  I really want it to work, because I love when concealers give a higlighting effect, but I have tried multiple beauty brands highlighting pens and I never like them.  With this one, I just did not feel like it concealed well.  I put two layers on under my eyes and I could still see my dark under eye circle breaking through.  So ended up returning this one, just like the others.

Maybelline Master Contour Face Contouring Kit in Medium to Deep- This is a really good product and I love the shades!  But I'm going to me taking it back.  Why?? Because I already own this exact thing!  This palette is an exact dupe for the It Cosmetics Vitality Face Disk.  The highlighter in the Maybelline palette is bit more golden, but other than that, I think they are exactly the same.  Same shades, same formula.  I have had the IT Cosmetic Disk for years, so I didn't need the Maybelline one too!

Maybelline Better Skin Concealer- I heard a lot of great things about this concealer, so I had high hopes but I was kind of underwhelmed with this one.  It did a good job of covering my under eye circles, but it was not highlighting at all (and I was using the lightest shade they make).  It doesn't say it's supposed to me highlighting, but a lot of other concealers I have are, so I really like when I find ones that do that.  Also, the first day I wore it, it creased a little bit (but I have worn it twice since and it did not).  So I'm on the fence about whether or not I'm going to keep it...

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water- I did really like this as an eye make up remover.  It removed all my eye make up and it didn't feel like I was putting chemicals on my eyes, it really did just feel like water.  I haven't used it yet to remove all the make up off my face.  I think I would need a lot of cotton rounds to do my whole face, but maybe I will try that soon.

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation- I was so nervous about using this product because I normally only where full coverage foundation and I figured that in a sponge like this, there was no way I would get a full coverage finish.  After applying I can say that I get about a medium to almost full coverage finish from this foundation and it is buildable.  I really actually love this one, because of the coverage, but also because it still looks and feels super light weight on the skin.  I use my beauty blender to apply it and I have been loving it!  I would highly recommend trying this one!

Wet N Wild Photo Finish Setting Spray- So far I have used this twice and my make up has looked good till the end of the day.  Now I used a lot of other long lasting products along with this, so I need to use this a little more before I definetly say I like this one, but I do have a good first impression of it.  I'll keep you all posted!

Physicians Formula Cushion Foundation- I like this cushion foundation also.  Just like the L'Oreal one, this is light weight but good coverage (this is a little less coverage than the L'Oreal one, I would say medium, only a little bit buildable).  Unfortunately Physicians Formula never makes a lot of shades of any of their products!  I got this in Light, but it's still a little dark for me right now, so I will keep it, but I'm going to have to hold off on wearing it regularly to summer time.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Blushes (in Rose Champagne, Mellow Wine and Pearlescent Pink)- I was really excited to see these were coming out in a new formula!  I actually got rid of my original ones in the old formula a while ago because I just did not reach for them.  But I was hoping I would like the new formula and I really do!  The new color Rose Champagne is my favorite, but all three are so pretty.  They are much lighter and creamier than the originals and they blend into my skin sooo well!  I actually think that's my favorite part of them. The originals were very pigmented but very hard to blend, so it was really easy to overdo it, but these blend so well that they look like a subtle hint of color every time!

Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow in Nothing But Bru-nette- I did like this brow gel, but I think it's not favorite.  This is very similar to the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara. But it can not compete with my favorite, ELF Treat and Tame (like I have mentioned, I only recommend the ELF one for people with naturally full eyebrows).  Also, this shade is not right for me, normally I try to wear the darkest shade of brown that a company makes but this one is still too light for me.  If I was going to wear this on a normal basis, I would have to see if they make it in a darker brown (which I'm pretty sure they do not) or black.

That's is all I have tested so far!  I am working on a separate post for the lip products and I'm still getting over an eye infection, so I'm holding off using the eye products until I'm sure my eyes are completely good (would hate to have to throw out a new product if my infection comes back!).  Hope these little reviews are helpful!  If you have any other questions, comment below or contact me on Instagram or Twitter!  I love chatting with you guys!

For all 3 L'Oreal Products after ECB: $6.20!!!!!

As you can see by my hauls,  I did pay full price for some items, but I tried to get the best possible deals on everything I bought.  Some times I paid full price because they were items that were hard to find and I was afraid that I would not be able to find them again if I passed them up where I found them (like the new Wet N Wild products).

I have already been trying out a lot of these new products and I have already found a few new favorites (and a few duds).  So stay tuned for reviews very soon!  Are there any new products that I didn't get that you think I should?  Let me know in the comments or on Instagram or Twitter!

Happy Savings Everyone!
